Citadel Dance Exchange is an exciting annual series showcasing works by some of Canada’s most talented dance artists.
This year, we’re thrilled to offer four unique opportunities to engage with renowned artists in their fields. From movement to lighting design, these sessions will provide valuable insights into key aspects of the dance sector.
Workshop with Marie-Andrée Gougeon
Friday, April 4, 1PM-3PM
PWYC ($5 minimum donation)
In the form of exchange, we'll discuss the expectations, challenges and obstacles of promoting a choreographic performance and developing markets and audiences. Is there any ideal model to process in this specific journey?
Open to anyone, in any field, who is starting out or has been in the game for a while.
Workshop with Manu Roque
Saturday, April 5, 10AM-12PM
$30 +HST/fees
This workshop is based on improvisation exercises exploring different systems of movement to allow freedom and singularity, using the notions of ground, weight, fluidity, vibration, speed, density... The practice is focused on attention (to ourself, the other(s) and the environment). To refine our observations and concentration, we use tools like duration, repetition, curiosity, generosity. How can we engage in awareness, with as much rigour as fun? How can we constantly renew the pleasure of movement and connections, and share it?
This workshop is open to professional dancers. Previous dance and movement knowledge is required.
